She has posted irrelevant topics and comments.
She posted links to Japanese websites, WEMF, raves...stuff most of us don't even care for, Stuff that has nothing to do with Sudbury or the Sudbury scene.

But when she finally posts a link to something we should all be interested in, you ban her?

The reason why is not in question, you don't want people to leave this forum to go to the new website. The link was up fine for a few days, the website was ugly, can't lie.

Once it became appealing to the public eye, you removed it.

If someone did something that benefits everyone, the people should be aloud to chose. This is something that is relevant to all our interests, and it should be known. This isn't a matter of just because WHO is running it. You are threatened. Both reasons, aren’t good reasons. Any excuse you can come up with, it still is shameful.

Is this the kind of community you run? A community that picks and chooses who should have free speech? If so, I want no part of it.

I dont think miranda should be banned.I may highly dislike her style of posts but i'm ready to let that slide because she's actually really nice in person.It could have been for the false information that Tyler had designed the site to gain approval or whatever could have been going through her mind at the time.,why she said that?no idea

I registered for the new site, i don't care who's running it as long as they keep it well maintained.Even if this board keeps operating,I'm happy to be on both.

As long as miranda doesn't spread dumbass disease on the new forum,i'm okay with it.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here, it's not appealing to anyone's eyes. What does the site do to benefit everyone? Brings people together to discuss topics that we have a common interest in? You're on that site. If I don't want another website that basically is doing the same thing as this one advertising on here, then I don't have to keep it. This forum was never meant to be a permanent fixture for a Sudbury scene message board, it was a temporary solution when punksud.net at the time went down.

With that being a said, a new site is in the works, which I told to Miranda, telling her not to waste her own time and money. So when the time comes, a new board will be up. Patience

Like I've said before I have no problem with her website. If that's the one you'd rather use then by all means use it. I just don't understand the motive behind it. To have a .ca? Great. She has no involvement in the Sudbury music scene. But if that's the kind of message board you'd rather take part in then that's your choice.

This temporary solution lasted a year, she built a website 10X better than Punksud was in a day. We were left in there dust here, knowing nothing. She took the initiative; she went out of her way to do this for us. You should have some respect for her.

So what you were making another website, she didn't know, she beat you too it. Less work for you is it not? Even If you are still making another website for the Sudbury music scene, why have a war about it. Banning someone just because they are broadcasting something they made.

Do you feel threatened that she will steal your business? That she will actually do something for this scene that no ones done? People will go to what they like better, so why not give them a chance? Why slam the door in our faces.

Who the hell are you to silence someone? This is a public forum, you may be the admin, but how is this fair to the rest of us. Pick on someone who is trying to delete communication, not someone who is trying to make a difference.

now that Miranda went out of her way i respect that she went ahead and made it,but at the same time i agree with tyler.
#1 she doesn't go to shows in Sudbury
#2.she doesn't really talk to any of the people within the scene on a regular basis
#3 she doesn't LIVE in Sudbury

her making the website is almost irrelevant
if she feels she can take it on with such lack of ties and information and goes out of her way to make these ties and get the info.

Why does someone from Illinois care so much about a forum in Sudbury, Ontario? When you have no idea what you're talking about maybe you should step back and assess the situation a little bit better.

Miranda fully knew that a new site was in the process of being made, I told her and gave her the opportunity to opt out of the masterpiece of a site she has made but didn't. That's her choice. Much like it is mine to delete a thread about a website she was claiming I had a part in making.

There is no "business" in forums. I've been doing this because I like the idea of having the music community talking to each other, sharing ideas and letting others know of what's happening in our scene. Not a business strategy where I plan to put out TV ads and attract every person in the city to a web-site. Punksud has been about a tight knit network of the people who go to shows here, the people who play in bands, and everyone who contributes to the scene in some way. Miranda does none of this and doesn't plan to, believe me I had to sit through the most agonizing hour and a half of my life hearing about why her website will be so much better than any incarnation of punksud in the past.

People can get the information about her site if they want to, but why should I allow my forum as a vehicle for her to do so? If I have a say in the matter it'll be a no, case closed.

You make this seem like some life changing decision, which forum are you for, Team Tyler or Team Obama/Miranda? Well who the fuck cares, at the end of the day it's a god damn forum, stop being a prissy bitch and get your head out of your ass. If people want to post there go for it, if you wanna stay here that's cool with me.

Sure you have the power to delete the thread, but by deleting that thread, you are deleting information that people want to know. People come to punksud for many reasons, but 1 thing is they want to know whats going on. If someone made a new punksud, most people would want to know, want to see it for themselves. Then make their own choice what they want to do.

You are just blocking that information from us. In the end, it hurts us all. It causes unwanted drama. It shouldn't be a battle, it isn't fair to her, it isn't fair to people who haven't seen the site yet. In the end it is not fair to the punksud community. She could be opening the door to new things. Clearly she cares enough about the future of this forum to take on the task of creating and attempting to run the website.

Ever think maybe she wanted you to be a part of it? Maybe she didn't want to claim punksud as her own and wanted to share it. Maybe she had enough respect for you that she thought that she would give some recognition. That is what it is. It’s a public site, made for everyone.

Punk isn't about pushing someone aside. It’s about helping them up.
Fact of the matter is YOU shouldn't have the say, the people of punksud should have the right to know. If this is how close minded your forum is, it will die like its members.

What bands are coming to town, who has a new album out and hey look Dan Dyer is calling someone a hilarious name. These are the reasons (for me anyways, but let's generalize) people come to this forum.

If she wants to open the door to new things for the punksud community, get involved! Don't rehash old ideas like oh I dunno starting a new forum that...already exists? Come on!

And did you ever think people (including myself) are happy here? Sure it's nothing fancy but we have somewhere to connect with people and that's what it's all about. Not putting a strain on the forum and having people choose what site they'd rather post on.

What is giving you a picture of me going to do. You'll sure as hell recognize me and I don't want that, which is why I made this account. My identity means nothing no matter how much I post on here, how many people on here I am friends with, which band I am in. None of that matters.

What matters is you are a coward. Bottom line is this is not YOUR website, you don't own this, this is a forum, a dying form that someone is trying to save, and you banned her for that.
